CARR September Skills Workshops

Welcome. Central Australian Rough Riders (CARR), the Alice Springs Mountain Bike Club, is proud to offer seven MTB Skills Workshops in September 2021.

The workshops are the perfect opportunity to:
-discover what you should be doing when mountain biking
-play and practise integrating new skills
-get feedback
-improve your MTB skills
-meet likeminded awesome people
-feel more confident
-have fun

CARR members will receive a $30 discount on entry fees and only pay $10. Please check email for the discount code.

Please ensure the following;

-You arrive at the venue (Telegraph Station or St Philips College) 15 minutes before you are due to start.
-Your bike, helmet and equipment is in good working order.
-You have sufficient sun protection.
-You carry food and water for the session.
-Ideally please carry a spare tube (preferably slimed) and equipment to change it.
-Bring fun and enthusiasm

CARR AUGUST SKILLS SESSIONS

Welcome to the CARR August Skills Sessions.
We are so pleased you are here and curious about committing to you and your mountain bike skill development.
You will come away feeling more confident about your mountain biking knowing what to do rather than fluking it.
You will meet great people, feel wonderful being outside, learn new tips and skills in a safe and encouraging environment, make new friends, and have a lot of fun!

Please note that we offer CARR members a 50% discount on skill session fees. Check email for Discount Code.

The skills sessions are:

  • Jumping and Obstacles (MTB Hopper) 9.30-11.00am Saturday 8 August (St Philip's College)

  • Jumping and Obstacles (MTB Hopper) 11.30-1pm Saturday 8 August (St Philips College) Dusty

  • Demons (8-12 years of age) 9.00 - 10.30am Sunday 9 August.

  • Women's Beginner 9:00 - 11.00am Sunday 9 August

  • Intermediate 12.00am-2.00pm Sunday 9 August

Cost is $30 for CARR members and $60 for non-members.

MTBA LEVEL 0 MTB SKILLS INSTRUCTOR COURSE

MTBA LEVEL 0 MTB SKILLS INSTRUCTOR COURSE

The next Mountain Bike Level 0 Instructors Course happening in Alice Springs on the 8 August 2020.

This is a terrific opportunity to learn how to teach mountain bike skills for beginner trails and of course is great for your own bike skills. Opportunities to use these skills within the club include MTB skills sessions, Dusty Demons and school based programs like Ross Park Primary School.

This course is subsidised by NT Government funding and reduced from $240 to $100 per person.

Maximum numbers will be 8 so sign up ASAP. It will be first in best dressed so don't do the usual Alice thing and wait till the last minute.

Once participants have registered for the course, copies of the following documents will be required in order to finalise a coach accreditation and for them to meet MTBA's insurance requirements:

  • Current First Aid Certification (Senior First Aid or HLTAID003 - Provide First Aid

  • Valid Working With Children Check for the State/Territory in which you are coaching

Please Note: There are pre-course readings and worksheets that MUST be completed prior to the course. The completed worksheets need to be brought to the course for assessment on the day.
